Cookie Policy — Monaco Lux Yachts
Last updated:
This page explains, in plain terms, how monacoluxyachts.com uses browser storage and similar technologies when you browse our yacht charter site or send us an enquiry. It applies to every visitor, whether you are comparing yachts, requesting a quote, or reaching us through a WhatsApp button, and it should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
Storage used on this site
- Cookie notice preference
- Local storage entry that remembers you have closed the cookie notice; kept until you clear your browser storage.
- Selected yacht (session storage)
- Remembers which yacht you clicked so the enquiry form can be prefilled; deleted automatically when you close the tab or send the form.
- Visit identifiers (local storage)
- Random visitor and session identifiers used for our own first-party visit measurement; expire 30 days after your last visit and can be cleared at any time.
- Google Fonts (google.com)
- Loads the typefaces used on the site; Google receives the visitor's IP address when the font files are requested. Sets no cookie for us.
- intl-tel-input via jsDelivr CDN
- Loads the script that formats the phone number field in our enquiry form; the CDN receives the visitor's IP address when the file is requested. Sets no cookie for us.
1. What this covers
Cookies, local storage, session storage and similar techniques let a website store a small piece of information in your browser, or recognise a repeat request from your device, so that a page can remember something between visits or during a single visit. Some of these techniques are strictly needed for a site to work, others are used to measure traffic, and others are used for advertising or profiling. This page tells you, honestly and without jargon, which category each element on monacoluxyachts.com falls into.
2. Our general approach
Monaco Lux Yachts does not place advertising cookies, does not install any third-party analytics or social-media tracking pixel, and does not sell or share browsing data with advertising networks. Everything described below either runs on our own domain or is a narrow, functional request to a library we rely on to make the site work correctly.
3. First-party visit measurement
We count visits using our own script, served from our own domain, rather than a third-party analytics provider. It records which pages were viewed, time spent on each page, the referring website, any campaign parameters carried in the link such as UTM tags or an ad click identifier, device type, browser, operating system, screen size and browser language, and the visitor's country derived from the IP address. The IP address itself is not stored.
This measurement relies on two random identifiers held in local storage on your device, a visitor identifier and a session identifier, which expire 30 days after your last visit to the site. If you send an enquiry or tap a WhatsApp or phone link, that action is linked to the same visit so that we know which channel brought your request. No cookie is used to do this.
4. Other browser storage
Two further entries are stored in your browser for purely functional reasons.
5. Functional storage details
- A local storage entry simply records that you have already seen and closed our cookie notice, so it does not reappear on every page.
- A session storage entry remembers which yacht you clicked on, so that the enquiry form can open already filled in with that yacht; it disappears as soon as you close the tab or submit the form.
None of these entries contains your name, email, phone number or any other contact detail.
6. Third-party requests
Two external services are called when the site loads, purely to display the page correctly.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces used across the site; the request to Google's servers includes the visitor's IP address, as is technically unavoidable when a browser fetches a font file.
- The intl-tel-input library, loaded from the jsDelivr content delivery network, powers the country-code formatting of the phone field in our enquiry form; this request also reaches jsDelivr's servers with the visitor's IP address.
Neither service sets a cookie on behalf of Monaco Lux Yachts, and we receive no advertising or profiling data from either of them.
7. WhatsApp buttons
The WhatsApp buttons on the site set nothing in your browser until you click one. When you tap a button, our own booking system records the click, together with the page URL, referrer, language and the prefilled message text, and the button then opens WhatsApp. From that point, the conversation takes place entirely within WhatsApp, operated by Meta, under WhatsApp's own privacy terms rather than ours.
8. Controlling storage and future changes
You can view, block or delete local storage, session storage and any cookies at any time through your browser's settings; doing so may remove the yacht prefill or reset the cookie notice, but it will not affect your ability to browse the site or send us an enquiry. Standard server logs kept by our hosting provider for security purposes, recording IP address, time, requested page and browser, are retained only for a short period and are separate from the storage described above.
If we ever decide to add an optional cookie, for instance for a feature that is not strictly necessary, we will update this page first and ask for your consent before it is set. Questions about this policy can be sent to [email protected], and complaints may also be addressed to the Autorité de Protection des Données Personnelles in Monaco.
